Richardson, Tx. Congregation Hosts Multiple Religious Liberty Events Featuring IRLA Secretary General

Dr. John Graz, director of the Public Affairs & Religious Liberty department of the Seventh-day Adventist World Church, was the featured speaker at several recent events in the North Dallas suburbs. Dr. Graz spent Friday, February 10, instructing students on the necessity of religious freedom in society. In the morning he lectured to three Government classes at the Dallas Mountain View Community College, then addressed students at the North Dallas Adventist Academy in the afternoon.

"It was a very positive experience," said Graz. "The students were very interested, and I had several good interactions."

On Sabbath Dr. Graz, who also serves as the Secretary General of the International Religious Liberty Association, spoke during both the divine worship service and an afternoon program at the Richardson Seventh-day Adventist Church. The Imam of a nearby mosque attended the afternoon program, along with six of his colleagues.

"It was encouraging to have representatives from the Muslim community in attendance," remarked Graz. "After the program we had a good conversation. They were eager for suggestions as to how to overcome prejudice."

"I am grateful to Pastor Serns and religious liberty director John Petchkurow of the Richardson church for the gracious invitation, and for arranging such a variety of venues in which to promote religious liberty," said Graz. "It was a pleasure to be involved."
