Holding a Prayer Meeting is a much better solution than burning the Qu'ran. Maybe it will make a difference in the heart of some if they know Christians care enough to pray for them.
How would we feel if God's Word were the book in question and ready to be put to the flames? There have been book burnings in the past, but they didn't solve anything. Neither will burning the Qu'ran on Sept. 11. Although, it may bring more problems for Christians down the road. We shouldn't borrow problems from tomorrow when there is enough for today.
Does not God tell us we are to be wise as serpents and harmless as doves?

I could not agree more. I hope there is a way for the pastor of that church to receive a copy of your message. Their plan will incite religious hatred and, undoubtedly, American bloodshed will be the result. This plan is not Christ's plan. This church is doing Satan's work.

Barry,
Well stated and I agree. I also hear, loud and clear the Pastor's perspective. In my own words I hear him saying "when will we (true followers of God's word) wake up and take a stand for what we believe?
I happen to agree that burning a Koran is not the correct action, prayer is. If what this Pastor has initiated by his stated intentions has awakened the sleeping church in America then I feel he has made his point and he can call off the "book burning".
My action is to attempt to contact the pastor to let him know that many other christians feel just as strongly and we are praying. If he feels that christians are praying and getting involved in the spiritual battle maybe, just maybe he will relent.
The pastor is correct in his assessment that Islam and Christianity cannot coexist. One is of the light and the other from angle of light, Satan. Much study has opened my eyes to this fact.
Thanks for your article. dp

What about those in Muslim countries who are interested in the Bible and the Christian religion? Will not burning the Muslin holy book make it even harder for these dear people who now have an open mind toward Christ and the Bible. Let us treat others with respect and kindness so even more people will want to know Christ.

I can't sit still... this is so disheartening... "freedom of religious expression"; weren't the planes in the wtc an expression of religion? How is the church set apart and peculiar from those actions? If they do this, it will open a floodgate of other expressions; more definite than possible- the others will be more and more devastating.... let us pray about their intended actions, and for each other. I can feel the closing of earth's history.

On the news this a.m., apparently no less than General David Petraeus has asked pastor jones not to go through with the book burning, because it will place american soldier's lives at risk. It is critical that our nation repudiates such abberant and abhorrent behavior in the clearest terms, so thank you Barry and NARLA for taking a clear stand on this issue!

I couldn't agree more! Perhaps our Adventist community of faith we should pray corporately and individually that the Florida church pastor and members have a change of heart.

Do you not believe in the Old Testmant??
A person gathering wood on the Holy Sabbath Day was to be stoned.
Mun 15:32
Wheather they burn the Qur'an or not, those infidels will want to kill all christians.

I wholeheartedly agree with you. It is simply the application of the Golden Rule. Would that this golden rule were applied equally in other situations.
